Abstract

The article refutes the validity of idea that Kant was a musical ignoramus. The author examines relation between Kant and the German and Austrian musical environmenton the basis of concerts in Keyserling’s house and concerts held by Austrian captive soldiers in Koenigsberg. The article shows the importance of H.C. von Keyserling as a patron of J.S. Bach’s family and describes which role played Kantinlife of composer J.F. Reichardt.
