Abstract

The article is devoted to identifying the challenges facing history of philosophy and its role in the professional activity of philosophers in 21st century. Mainstream Anglophone philosophy in 20th century abandoned the philosophical tradition in favor of “cultural circles”. This tendency retains its influence beyond the Anglophone philosophy. This paper on the basis of specific examples attempted to demonstrate that the study of the history of philosophy is one of the most importanttasks for philosophers around the world.
