Abstract

Thearticle considers the distinction between the concepts of “term” and “name” in the Philosophy of Name fr. P.A. Florensky within comparing this distinction on the one hand — with the idea of the “genesis of scientific terminology” (V.P. Zubov), and on the other hand — with the concept of the “fate of name” (A.F. Losev). These approachesare related to each other unified field of understanding — or discussion. The purpose of the article is to outline the boundaries of this field and to fix the main generators of its meanings. It is shown that the key concepts for all representatives of the philosophy of name (in addition to the category «name») are the concepts of «essence», «hypostasis» and «energy»; the reality=the world and the language are correlative to each other, and neither is the function of the other.
