Kantianism, Kant philology and Kant scholarship

Abstract

The article of Norbert Hinske touches the question about the difference and the correlation between Kantianism, Kant studies and Kant philology. Kant philology deals with the preparing of Kant’s texts to the edition and could be regarded as one of the branches of Kant studies. The latter is a special branch of science, which applies to biographical research, development studies, textological comments, issues research, history of concepts and etc. Kant science and Kantianism often are closely connected, although this connection is not necessary. Kant studies don’t have to be inspired by the Kantianism or to result in it. But Kantianism to some extent must be based on the rudimentary Kant exegesis at least. In the article are considered four periods of Kant studies history (early Kantianism, German Idealism, Neo-Kantianism and ontological Kant interpretation). It has to argue that the reception of Kant thought can be understood only on the basis of state of Kant studies and Kant philology of that time.
