«Studies in Russian Intellectual History» (review)

Abstract

This review is made of a scholarly annual edition entitled «Studies in Russian Intellectual History» that has been published since 1997 by Modest Kolerov and Nikolay Plotnikov. It brings out the latest research in the history of Russian philosophy abroad, at the turn of 19–20th centuries. To the analysis of eight issues of the periodical it becomes obvious that material published in there makes a priceless contribution to the special historical-philosophical disciplines: a source study, textual criticism and personology. It is pointed out that archival material of any volume, as well as material which is of little knowledge, is always accompanied in the Yearbook by a comprehensive study and analyses of its imbeddedness in creative integrity of a thinker, which provides this edition with indisputable value. It is concluded that with its detail, documentation and interdisciplinary breadth of the valuable material made available to reader, the Yearbook has precedent neither in Russia nor in the field of foreign periodicals.
